Debbie Lee contestant on "The Next Food Network Star" just misses the final two

Debbie is a contestant on "The Next Food Network Star" who fuses Korean and Southern cooking styles. I honestly had my money on Debbie winning before she got kicked off. Why?

Because Debbie has a flair to her. She cooked well. She had an interesting approach with the fusion of two tastes, and she represented a side that Food Network has failed to properly portray- Asian cooking and culture. She may not be the best reality TV contestant, but she has a great concept and the skills behind her to do something with it.

Food Network in my opinion is trying too much to be like MTV. It used to be about cooking and now its got this reality TV spin on it. (And I don't like it!) They used to have the real Iron Chef and now they have Iron Chef: America (which blows). I don't know if my boys Martin Yan or Ming Tsai were ever on Food Network, but as far back as I can remember they weren't. The audience of Food Network, perhaps, is just not diverse enough yet.

The final two breakdown: Melissa is just way to frantic (who represents the home cook) and cliché. Jeffrey looks like he should be in a folk band, and is kind of boring. But hey, as with most reality TV shows, it isn't always the winner who ends up getting the best gig or becoming the most popular. Melissa is better than Jeffrey though- IMO.

Best of luck to Debbie in the future and to hopefully keep spreading the lovely joy of fusion Asian cooking (we'll be getting the whole world to eat noodles eventually!)

Seoul to Soul! m00g00.
